Why we build companies around AI, not the other way around
Short answer: Building a company around AI means starting from an infrastructure designed for intelligent automation, where AI handles the repetitive work within clear rules, and then deciding deliberately where people add the most value. It is the opposite of buying another AI tool for an old process, and it is how Palmline builds both its own ventures and the systems it delivers to clients.
The tool trap
Most companies adopt AI one tool at a time: a writing assistant here, a chatbot there. Each saves a little time, but the company still runs the way it did before, and the tools do not talk to each other or to the systems where the real data lives.
Three layers
Every company we build, ours or a client's, runs on the same three layers:
- Your systems: ERP, CRM, finance and channels such as WhatsApp and email.
- Operations as autonomous flows: bookings, invoices, follow-ups and routing that run on their own.
- One AI on top, connected to everything, that answers, decides within rules and escalates the rest.
Operational excellence that strengthens customer intimacy
When machines handle the routine, people are free for the moments where they make the difference: a client with a special request, a difficult negotiation, recruiting the right team. Placing that human touch is a deliberate decision, not whatever is left over.
This does not have to wait for a big transformation. The same approach starts with one use case that pays off quickly, then grows.
Rules decide, AI words
Language models are excellent at understanding and writing, and unreliable as the final authority on prices, limits or money. In everything we build, the AI handles the language and the judgement calls it is good at, while hard rules decide what is allowed and people approve what matters.
